My Green Directory (formerly Allthingseco) is not an accreditation body, an environmental rating system, or an environmental auditing system.  We simply list companies, organizations and individuals that provide a product or service that adheres to environmentally friendly, sustainable, fair trade, recycled, organic & natural, ethical and socially responsible principles.

However, to feature on My Green Directory companies, organisations and individuals listed will only be those that can fulfill  the majority of the following criteria:

• Offer products, services and information with clear environmental benefits
• Genuinely support & follow environmentally friendly, sustainable, fair trade, recycled, organic & natural and ethical principles.
• Incorporate ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ throughout their daily functions 
• Honest & transparent, fair & sustainable work practices and ethics
  
• Have active care for the environment
• Have achieved accreditation or are members of Ethical Membership Organisations***
  
• Provide a high content - 60% and above (if a retail outlet) of environmentally sustainable products.
  

We would advise companies to have an awareness of the Triple Bottom Line - the practice of taking into account ecological and social performance in addition to financial performance.

We rely on companies being honest and transparent about their activities, making sure that they comply with our minimum standards, and also on self regulation via the industry by recommendations and on occasion, complaints.

Once listed a company can also showcase the following:

Event Listings:   Events, festivals, workshops, courses, conferences, classes and campaigning activities that are environmental, sustainable, holistic, peace, ecological, human and animal rights related.

News:   News that is related to events, products, companies, campaigns, offers, information that have an environmental, ecological, socially responsible stance. (up to 300 words + high res images only)

Offers:   Listed offers must all be products that contribute to environmental sustainability - being natural & organic, recycled, fair-trade, sustainable, socially responsible. (Premium & Showcase Listngs only)

We encourage companies to further communicate their environmental credentials by becoming a member of an environmental accreditation standard or membership organisation.  All My Green Directory Showcase Listings are able to display their membership credentials in My Green Directory.

Dealing with false environmental claims: There are some companies that falsely claim to be and/or produce products that are eco-friendly, organic, green, recyclable or recycled when in reality the company has poor environmental performance standards or their products are produced in way harmful to the environment. These false claims are sometimes called `green wash’ and the team at My Green Directory do their very best to dismiss any companies or product that falsely claim to be `green’.

We cannot provide an absolute guarantee that businesses with false environmental claims are not listed in My Green Directory but try our utmost to make sure false companies are not included, and encourage the reader to  report any company they feel should not be listed with us.
