Special treat for Bristol nurses at VegfestUK this weekend!

Hundreds of free tickets have been given out to a number of Bristol hospitals for one of Europe's biggest and most popular veggie food festivals VegfestUK Bristol this weekend, on May 23rd 24th 25th at the Amphitheatre.

Many staff at the BRI, Frenchay Hospital and University Hospitals Bristol can now look forward to an amazing weekend full of mouthwatering global cuisines, mesmerising live music and massive crowds on the Harbourside.

The show organisers allude, “It's our absolute pleasure to extend a welcoming hand to the hard-working local nurses and invite them to a healthy eating festival like ours with free tickets. Here they can sample the delights of plant-based cuisines in an informal, Rock 'n Roll atmosphere, enjoying a top day out away from the stresses of their daily routines. With the issue of healthy eating rising ever higher on the public's agenda, it is gratifying to be able to reach out to employees of the NHS and demonstrate how healthily delicious plant-based foods really are.”

The festival kicks off on Friday evening with 70's – 80's disco and pop giants Boney M and Rose Royce gracing the main stage alongside Abba Gold. The music shifts to punk and reggae on the following two evenings with Peter Hook and the Light, Ruts DC, Goldblade, Zion Train and Black Roots entertaining a massive crowd. With specialist caterers and licensed bars also on the menu, nurses will look forward to dancing the nights away and releasing their daily shackles at this uplifting fayre.

Meanwhile, during Saturday and Sunday daytime, the festival features a range of eclectic global cuisines, free samples and special offers from 140 stalls.

There's some top-notch, potentially life-changing information on health and lifestyle from dozens of talks, cookery demos, workshops and short films. Those who're bringing their kids along will not want to miss the fun and slightly wacky kids cookery classes, alongside family-friendly hoola-hoops, clay modelling sessions, art & craft, dressing up and smoothie bike.

With also comedy hours and musicians in store, there're many reasons to head down to Bristol Harbourside for this all-in-one fiesta.
